xLayer Technologies, with its product TrakiGa, took on the challenge of developing an advanced Transit Management System for Agartala Smart City, focusing on AVLS (Automatic Vehicle Location System), PIS (Passenger Information System), and ITS (Intelligent Transport System).

The Ask

To design and develop an Intelligent Power Management System (IPMS), to monitor and automate switchover among multiple energy sources.

Solution

We designed a real-time embedded system to optimise and manage power switching from various sources like grid, DG, Solar, Hydrogen Fuel Cell, and Battery Storage. The system integrates with third-party equipment such as Battery Management System (BMS), Solar Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT), etc. using both proprietary and standard protocols. The MMI is over both CLI and touchscreen GUI. The MMI displays various operating parameters from all the power sources, in a unified screen. In the graphical interface, animation is used to display power contributions from various sources. The system also provides for audio/visual alarm management.

Impact

The system enabled the end customer to intelligently monitor, control, and optimise power usage, with the primary goals of reducing energy costs, enhancing system reliability, and minimising environmental impact.
